Penitent Skies [from A Volcano Island]

      Penitent skies fall to her uplifted face
      Spurning vermilion reels of obsequy
      Still night had enchanted with simpering shades
      Born to fawn at whatever her coral soul imposed.
5     Naked girl of insistences
      Dismiss this churn of universe
      With a backpaddle of that turnless hand
      Spun starlight spins to expire upon!
      Dawn's jade twirl cannot climb to kiss
10    The disastrous greens of her envisioned eyes;
      Wrapped with a bandage of incendiary tongue,
      I cannot unbraid this claiming fire within me
      That spikes these whipping words.
